| A dozen bodyguards exited the Edesu plane which had just arrived in Nava (Nava's capital), vigilantly searching the area for possible assassins. They were protecting the two Kommissars that had come to survey the progress of the new communist government in Nava.
Two days ago the revolution that had dragged on for over a decade ended when the communists took the Samos stronghold of Granada. Now with every city controlled by the communists, Samos executed, and his generals and ministers killed or fled, the civil war was over.
Naturally, the Holy Edesu Socialist State had backed the communist rebels, equipping them with modern weaponry they could never had produced and providing desperately needed aid to the masses. Ten years later the rebels had triumphed, and Nava badly needed foreign assistance to bankroll its reconstruction.
The Navan president, Miguel Ortega, hurried toward the Kommissars, anxious to please. "Kommissar Albinoni! Kommissar Kriegipaz! So very good to see you again!" [That's foreign relations and war, respectively.]
"Our pleasure," returned Albinoni amiably, smiling broadly. Kriegipaz just grunted an affirmation. Albinoni asked, "I assume rapid progress is being made?"
"Of course, of course," responded Ortega, "Agricultural communes have been organized for the peasants; all the factories have been nationalized; the unions are respected; we're building a school system as fast as possible; every town now has a doctor. Oh, and of course we cannot thank Edes enough for the aid that funds this all."
"And the bases?" interrupted Kriegipaz.
"Well," answered Ortega, "We're expanding the Edesu army bases in all the cities. Obviously your air base in Nava [Also, the capital's name. Deal with it.] has been completed for some time now. And I received a communiqué yesterday requesting permission to build a naval base in the west."
"Will that be granted?" asked Kriegipaz.
"Of course," promised Ortega, "Now let me show you some of the regions which have benefitted or will benefit from continued Edesu aid."
The three politicians boarded a Kamov Ka-226 transport helicopter. | |

| The Navan government, as a gesture of gratitude to the HESS, will give Edes unlimited jet fuel at no cost to the HESS. | |
