The only problem with cost issue is that recently E has been teaching ME a lesson in capital. So I guess I am not as perfect as I once thought I was. I should really reel in my own spending before accusing people of doing such ^^... although constant rant about how to run my economy despite the fact that I am currently well aware of the situation is getting a bit nosy...

Regardless, I guess you definition of entertaining is my version of dreadful... and if that is the case, I hope the case isn't the worst case scenario ^^;

Now, that what's happening here right now. I am creating a better version of space than that of Isis's.

I am not basing this off of GX2 and iPhone4 analogy. I am basing this off of just how much capital is invested.

As you know, I am more of money person. More money invested, the better it should be. I usually don't count better engineers, technology, or luck into the calculation, because it gets complicated. .......... but even if I did... most likely Isis would get the bet because Isis's ridiculous population. More people would give him better chance that he will have some kind of genius. Just saying... China, with its immense population, does tend to have more "freaks" and "geniuses" than other nations. Same goes for US, which equally has good population. I do tend to talk about legacy, but neither Isis or KI had a mention-able space program before. The only ones that did in the previous RP was Grace, Ras, Hijima, and E. Others didn't seem to have wanting for space program.

So I will take it that KI and Isis had equal engineering feat... although Isis would protest otherwise. If that is the case, how much more capital was invested? Well... obviously, Isis invested a whole lot more. For him, even 10% of his defense budge is impressive amount of money. Meanwhile, KI... well, you have quite a bit of capital, but comparing your bucks with Isis is not usually a good thing.

If you want to create a better orbital, that would mean more spending. You probably cannot do that all on your own... you will have to talk it out with Ras and E. However, knowing that Isis is here... you can probably get them into a mutual funding. If that is the case, and both Isis and KI spends equal amounts of cash... I would say that you two might have equal amount... although... Isis did start the invention first, and thus he has somewhat of a lead in innovation (last I checked... he did have a working prototype in the orbit...)

But to be fair... Isis, I will probably have to have you starting with the launch again. Nothing personal, but since you did leave before... I assume that would mean that you were isolationistic. If that was the case, you probably wouldn't have something SUPER international-magnet like orbital bombardment system in the orbit. That would've created an uproar in RL. Therefore... you still have your prototype, but you will have to restart the launch procedure and the likes. This also gives you more time to explain how much you are investing into it... more legitimacy, the more power to ya.

Also more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better quality.

KingIsaac's example of apple vs. samsung is an example of this, is also true with apple vs. windows products. Apple is notorious for having overpriced goods; it can cost twice as much for an apple computer with the same hardware as a generic PC, despite the fact that the hardware achieves the same results.

On that subject... you constantly boast extremely powerful military products. However... if HESS simply claims that he has better, does that mean that he is stronger? No, because I evaluate it as "more invested = better quality."

There... really... isn't any real way for me to evaluate what is better that will please someone in EVERY situation. This... is RP. And sometimes, I don't have all the information I need to evaluate certain situations... or more like most situations.

So this is the system that I use. The more you have RPed it, the more you have invested into it without busting... the better it is. I also take into account about history. The longer it has been within possession, the better it is. And considering all those... Isis trumps KI in nearly every part. Isis certainly had this longer (I am importing from the other RP... although we hit refresh, the innovations are still within legacy imports), Isis certainly spent more on it, and Isis did do extensive RP about it. Although... it truly never finished that thread. The point is that I consider Isis's bombardment more powerful because of that.

If... you have any other factors I should look at... feel free to let me know. But... the whole thing about "expectations"... I have been saying this to E before and I'll say it now. I just cannot keep up with RL examples and situations. I mean... I am not master of chances and probability. I cannot sit in the forum crunching numbers to see what is better in multiple different examples. I simply follow my code of conduct that I have (more, better quality RP posts without busting my "econ senses" should be rewarded). I usually don't take account to RL examples... things... just get too complicated ^^;

I am saying... that the longer you have had the said invention, the longer you had to tinker with it... better improvements... more stable parts... the whole thing is more efficient than if you JUST invented it.

Using the computer example... the longer you knew that computers existed, the longer you would've tried to make it work better right? Eventually you would've went from vacuum tubes to transistors and then to GUI and such. That's what I am saying... not owning the 1950's antique.

I don't mind folks having more powerful weaponry than I do. Most everyone has something better than I do. *shrug* If he wants to RP something better than I have it, then let him have at it. I have things in the works and will continue to research other items. I am, by far, the most nuclear nation in the world, so I might just stick with that, too. We shall see. Fun times.

My policy as SoC has ALWAYS been... the better you RP, the MORE you RP, the better your country is. I always gave handicaps to those of lesser nations, and I have always given benefit of doubts to those who attempt to reel in their spending. I will NOT condemn Isis, who has followed ALL the steps into getting a powerful weapon, while KI, who decided at the last second that he wanted orbital (original idea of KI's superweapon: antimatter) gets the same deal.

And since Isis has PLANNED this with me... as in he TGed me ASKING that if he should have it... so that it doesn't cause conflicts... have discussed the pros and cons of this weapon... managed the cost and capital necessary and have sacrificed... and then finally RPed in Domestic post and tried to RP with others... yeah...

Basically... I don't want to "appease the masses" because the "masses" wants my rules broken to benefit themselves at the cost of "minority" who have followed my rules. That's my bias, anyways. ^^;
